Tim linden of StartXchange just posted an interesting review of the infamous “Traffic Hoopla” downline builder. If you hadn’t heard, Tim’s hit exchange was removed from their ranking system awhile back. They claimed Tim was “cheating” their system. This was a “red flag” to me as I’ve never known Mr. Linden to be “shady” in any way, shape, or form. Finally, Tim has gone public with his side of the story in this article.

The validity of Traffic Hoopla’s Ranking system has always been a subject of much debate. When a certain exchange dropped drastically in their rankings in a matter of only 7 days, “coincidentally” following a dispute with the owner of said exchange, many had a hard time believing that the drop in rank was based purely on stats.

If you ever wondered where Hoopla’s so called “stats” come from, Tim’s article may shed some light on the issue.

Okay, I have to admit, I never gave Hit2Hit a second look until the addition of the co-op rotator. Y’know the one, where upgraded members get their site shown in a rotator that appears on some 30 other exchanges? Yeah that sucked me in right away. Branding like that from the cheapie upgrade? Yep. I’m in. And apparently I wasn’t alone. Owner Franscisca Kruissink recently celebrated her milestone 25,000th member and the numbers are growing fast.

So what does this mean for us? The fast growing membership means a steady flow of fresh eyes on member pages to be sure. Fresh eyes = Fresh prospects to potentially feed into your list. Grab an upgrade, assign credits to your site, and BAM! You’re being seen on 30+ TEs. (so long as you have credits assigned.) That’s 2 really good reasons to add Hit2Hit to your surfing schedule. I didn’t even mention the cash referral contests. Doh! Just did, didn’t I…

Visit Hit2Hit now and see for yourself what all the buzz is about.

In my e-mail series, I stress the fact that in order to succeed, you must do what failures refuse to do. If there’s one phrase I hear failed marketers say more often than any other it’s usually something like that headline. “This program doesn’t work”, “That site is a scam” and the list goes on. Just this morning I heard a gentleman comment, “I’m not sure if I want to invest in that when I don’t even know if it will work.”

Here’s the bottom line. No program, no “proven marketing system”, is going to work until YOU do. Until you make a conscious decision to apply the necessary techniques, nothing is going to “work” for you. You may have to ask a lot of questions, but you better believe anyone who is successful online had their share of questions in the beginning.

If you aren’t making any money online yet, why not give this a try. Send an e-mail to the support team or owner of your primary affiliate program and ask them how you might improve your results. Assuming you’ve already read and implemented any techniques recommended on their site, If they aren’t willing to help, it’s a good sign you may need to look for another program.

I’m confident that anyone with a strong desire for success can achieve it, but you must adopt a “refuse to fail” mentality. You see, you only become a failure when you make a decision to quit trying. When you quit trying, you’ve essentially chosen to fail, and at that point there’s only one person to blame.

In short… seek the knowledge, apply the knowledge, and persevere.

Note: There are two great places you can go to learn and ask questions from some of the top names in affiliate marketing. 1st is the Net Marketing Forum, a free to join forum already filled with tons of helpful q&a posts, or if you prefer a more live format, check out the free weekly seminars at affiliate funnel, every saturday at noon EST.

The folks at Logiscape, who brought us 3 powerful traffic exchanges with TS25, Traffic pods, and Hit Pulse, Have finally opened their doors for registration. I got a chance to have a look around and holy wow are there some cool features coming.

At this point, all you can do is register for an account, set your profile info(which includes uploading your photo and setting your display name) and refer others into your downline.

The brilliant minds at Logiscape have obviously put some thought into their launch, gradually activating various features as the membership and activity grows. Here’s a peek at their official launch schedule…

Feature

 Available

registration

Jan 20th 3:00pm

create and join teams

Jan 21st 12:00pm (noon)

account upgrading

Jan 22nd 3:00pm

websites manager

Jan 24th 12:00pm (noon)

surfing the network

Jan 27th 3:00pm

buy credits

Feb 1st 12:00pm (noon)

sell credits

Feb 3rd 12:00pm (noon)

splash page network

Feb 5th 12:00pm (noon)

marketplace

Feb 8th 12:00pm (noon)

Statistically, it’s never easier to build a downline in a TE then at launch time, so don’t waste any time getting in and promoting this one. I have a feeling this is going to be one powerful Traffic and networking tool.

We talked about branding with custom banners a couple of days ago, and to follow up, I’ve added a video tutorial on the basics of making a custom banner in Adobe Photoshop. You can find it in the Tutorials section.

This first video doesn’t get into anything too flashy. Just enough to get you started. Later this week I’ll be adding a video dealing with text effects and layer styles to add a little polish to your banners. Eventually we’ll work our way into making splash pages in Photoshop as well.

If you’ve been using traffic exchanges for any extended period of time, chances are you subscribe to Jon Olson’s “Hit Exchange News“. In each Issue, Jon chooses a Splash page, from the many he stumbles across while surfing, and enters it into his “splash page hall of fame”. I always pay close attention to this section of the newsletter, hoping to get ideas to improve my own ads. Let’s face it, If anyone knows how to use TE’s effectively, It’s “The Traffic Exchange Guy“.

Quoted from the latest issue of HEN…

This Week’s Splash Page Hall of Fame Entry is this page! Wow, wow, wow, wow. That’s all I can say about this and I know Mr. Rich Morris must be loving this splash page too!

Ok, so maybe I’m a little over exited about this, but this is now the third time one of my splash page designs has made it into HEN.

Yep… feelin’ a little good about myself right now.
